I was born in Lymington the son of the local policeman and we lived in the police house in Waterford Lane. My family then move into a house in Gosport Street that was originally The Prince of Wales Public House, my farther then turned the building into a cafe. Their main business was catering for the passengers catching the early morning ferry to The Isle of Wight and Cyclist stopping for tea and cake on Sunday.  I always tell people that I could butter bread before I could walk, but really we did lend a hand when we were old enough.

At school I found a love for playing the drums and was encouraged by the music teacher to have a go. I ended up playing drums in a Punk Rock band called The Mirrors; if you search hard enough you may find the odd track on YouTube.  From there I played in a few bands and ended up writing songs for a blues band called Agnes Strange, almost having a song released by a leading record company.  This I think is what gave me the inspiration for writing and drawing the illustrations for my first book The Secret Prince of Arcland.

The Prince of Arcland tells the story of two ordinary school boys. Tom and Dick who love to play knights on pretend horses galloping around the park, much to the annoyance of the park keeper. One day they have a chance meeting with a young girl, sat crying by one of the goal posts. Little did they know that this chance meeting would take them on a great adventure into Arcland.  On their journey they meet various characters who give them items that will aid them on the quest to find the Forgotten Mountain. Unbeknown to the throughout their journey they are being watched over by Emeris the wizard.
